worship ministry forums-in person-or online?
This is a good article I read today relative to, among othe things, improving communication. (Check the first point called “overcommunicate”)
Would people engage if we had some sort of regular worship ministry forum for asking questions of the worship leadership team (worship planning team)? I was thinking in person, but then realized this can be available all the time through a blog like this one on the church web site. What do you think?

Sounds like a reasonable idea to me. I guess my only concern is that we could possibly become overwealmed with input. If you decided to do it I’d leave it open for both types of communication. I’m not sure that the whole congregation is ready for blogging.

I believe more communication is a good thing. But there has to be a balance of personal and electronic communication. Email and blogging are good for getting updated information for services and future plans. However, I believe that in today’s time of email and fast tracking……..people really need personal interaction. It’s too easy to get lost in the blog.

I agree with Ed & Alice, more is a good thing. I think Ed is on the money when he says that everyone won’t be onboard with this type of communication. And….Alice is on target with people need personal interaction.
Keep in mind this is just another medium to share/communicate. For some it *is* the personal interaction (see MySpace among many examples) of a particular generation, so I see the opportunity to minister/connect with them in this venue.
I’m fairly certain that I’ll be there - in person - to pick on everyone in due time…but I doubt that it is the type of personal interaction Alice is alluding to (HUGE grin!).

My big question is who will keep up with it? What members of the team will take the time each day to check the blog? And what if their answers or opinions differ from Gene’s?
I’m not very experienced with blogging. I’ve read just a few online and didn’t participate.
It would be interesting to see what would happen if you opened this up.

Who are you guys? What am I doing here? I thought blogging was some new kind of country & western dance step.

I am thinking more like Vicki, but I’m not into blogging.
Ben, blogging isn’t a country and western dance step…it’s style of country dancing.

Hey Ben and Lei, I think you are both wrong. I always thought blogging was something you did to your kids when they were disobedient.
